Research Interests

  • Wireless Communications
    • Wireless LAN (802.11, HIPERLAN type2), Wireless PAN (Bluetooth, UWB), Wireless MAN (Mobile WiMAX)

Background

I am currently working on wireless broadband technologies at the research and the standardization. Prior joining DoCoMo USA Labs in 2001, I worked in Nokia Research Center, Helsinki, Finland.

I received B.E, M.E, and Dr. Eng. from the University of Electro Communications, Tokyo, Japan. During my graduate study, I was also a research trainee at Communication Research Laboratory, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Japan for five years and a Ministry of Education postgraduate scholar at the University of Adelaide, Australia.

Professional Activities

  • Member of IEEE
  • Voting Member of IEEE802.11 and IEEE802.20
  • Technical Editor of IEEE802.15.1 and Blutooth Specification 1.1
  • Liaison between IEEE802.15 and ETSI BRAN (2000)
  • TPC member for WCNC 2003 and PIMRC 2006

Publications

  • I have over 30 journal and conference papers, and hold 8 patents (USPTO).
